At Key Stage three, students
follow a broad and balanced curriculum with the opportunity to try out all the Design Technology options and some
Modern Foreign Language options before having to choose options to study in more depth.
We believe that close partnership with parents ensures that every student achieves as much as they can in their time with us.
We concentrate on good communication and organisation so that if issues arise, both students and parents know that there are informed professionals.
At Key Stage 3, students follow the full National Curriculum and study English, Mathematics, Science, Citizenship & PHSE, Humanities (Geography, History and RE), PE, Music, Art, Design & Technology and Modern Languages.
Between the ages of 14 and 16 two things change:
Students study subjects in more depth. This means that they must choose some and stop studying others.
Most students work towards qualifications at 16.
This means that students have to choose their subjects carefully, bearing in mind the type of assessment each subject has and what suits their learning style (some courses have lots of coursework, others have lots of practical work and some have exams only).
