Moat Community College

A group of year 9 students went to the EON power station to see a real power station in action.  On arrival, they had to put on hard hats and safety specs before being given the opportunity to learn how a power station works, which included going into the deafening chambers of the huge turbines and the control room.

 

Despite the heat of the power station, it was a cold day to be walking nearly 2 miles but very interesting to see how  our electricity is produced.  The coffee and biscuits were very welcome.
